Killer Joe |
Smooth Jazz |
A modern re-work of a classic
jazz standard. Very very laid back. Just what you need to fall
asleep smiling. |
|
Acceleration (Sub Endurance Test) |
Bass |
This track is a tribute to the "Fastest Song In
The World" by the Gabberman. Only mine is a bit different. It
starts off with a standard beat, and increases speed to around 700bpm.
The phasing that begins to occur midway into the song, and then again when
the song decreases speed at the end is amazing, and will definitely give
your sound system a workout. |

Journal |
Played on the piano, this journal entry is
probably my best. |
|
The Background |
Bass |
A bit of acid jazz. It'd make good
background music for something. Just not sure what yet. |
|
Big Potato |
Bass |
A ridiculous bass line is what this track is
about. If there was a genre called cheese techno, this song takes the
prize for the cheesiest of all cheese. It's hilarious. |
|
Brad's Bass |
Bass |
My first attempt at techno. Wasn't great,
but I'll put it on here anyway. |
|
Butterscotch Pudding |
Bass |
Techno beat with a jazzish walking bass line
done on a synth. Never got finished because I got hungry halfway
through, and ate a ton of butterscotch pudding instead. |
|
Cubic Bacon* |
Funk |
A follow-up to cubic eggs. Note, the
bacon was similar to the eggs, except it was a smaller cube, and cut into
slices. |
|
Cubic Eggs* |
Funk |
Nice little improv with an organ, bass, and
some drums. Why cubic eggs? I was on the campus of Eastern
Illinois University one day, and I went and got some breakfast from their
cafeteria. Instead of having real eggs, they had this 12" yellow cube
that they scooped apart with an ice cream scoop. It was quite
disgusting. |
|
Demo1 |
Techno |
Nothing worth listening to. Just me
experimenting with new stuff. |
|
Everyday Life |
Bass |
Awesome bass line with random interjections of
random things thrown in here and there. |
|
Experiment #11 |
Techno |
Just some more experimentation with arpegiated
synths. |
|
Improv For Augustana Audition* |
Easy Listening |
In January of 2003, I got this letter from
Augustana College, about an audition for a huge scholarship. All I had
to do was mail in a demo tape. Well, I got the letter the day before
the demo tape was due in. So while scrambling for stuff to put on the
tape, I just recorded some piano improv. Nothing worth listening to. |
|
Insect |
Techno |
This song is for no other purpose to be
annoying. However, it's got some very cool sounds in there. The
section in the middle has an awesome groove to it. Definitely a
recommended download. |
|
Interlude |
Techno |
The intro track on my demo CD. I think
this is the best work I've ever done. It's short, but powerful.
It starts off with an arpeggiated synth that builds and builds, bringing in
a rhythm that is present, but not overpowering. Very moving track,
with subsonic rumbles that will knock you out of your chair. |

Journal |
I decided to make my own synth patch for this
one. Very relaxing, all synthesizer piece. |
|

Journal |
Upright bass, drums, and a Rhodes keyboard.
What more do you need? |
|
Magnum |
Techno |
Probably the first somewhat decent electronic
track I ever put together. Starts off a bit slow, but ends up being
really nice with a few twists and turns here and there to keep you off
balance. |
|
Overcome |
Electronic |
Great song to release tension with.
Starts off with a nice laid back, but definitely moving groove, with an
almost hip-hop beat. Builds and builds until fading out, leaving
nothing but an acoustic piano to finish the tune. Greatly promotes the
mood of do-not-worry-about-anything-and-enjoy-life. |
|
Power* |
Electronic |
Very.... strange recording. Very good
though. 5 minutes of nothing but wild, random, complex, and powerful
synth playing. |
|
Project Minor |
Techno |
It's got the workings of a good dance track,
with my usual bit of randomness. |
|
Rainy 3AM* |
Easy Listening |
The first improv recording I ever did. I
recorded this back in 1997. It's not very good at all, but it's on
here anyway. |
|
September 6, 2003* |
Journal |
A bit of funk with an awesome beat. |
|
SubPhase |
Bass |
Nothing but crazy, somewhat subsonic bass, that
gets even better as it drops down an octave in the middle. I hope
you've got good speakers. |
|
Superstition [remix] |
Bass |
The original song is by Stevie Wonder.
I've redone it a bit. |
|
Symphonic Stairway* |
Strings |
I know you've heard the song Stairway to
Heaven. Well, I was sitting down at the piano one day, just playing
some stuff in A minor. Next thing I knew, I ended up playing a
rendition of stairway to heaven. I decided to fire up my orchestra
patch and see what it would sound like. Very cool stuff. |
