LAN Party

The last LAN Party was quite the interesting one.  Although not the largest, I think it was the best one we've ever had.  A few people got launched off of office chairs, I think we scared away the Journal Star lady in the process, Bostic was going to be egged, but left as Howie set his thumb on fire.  Jon hid in a monstrosity of a pile of card board boxes while playing StarCraft against everybody else.  The traditional trivial pursuit went on, as Julie and others downed coffee and tacos, provided by Mitch.  Luckily, we stocked up on toilet paper and air freshener before the craziness began.  We didn't blow any speakers, but we did get the subs hot enough that the magnet became detached a bit and slide around.  The cop lights on the ceiling did not catch on fire, defying 6 people with crazy gut feelings, a game of the Sims, and a really red hot 10 gauge ground wire.  Ron decided to run to the far side of the basement for some crazy reason, but got stuck because Julie shut the basement lights off.  [It's next to impossible to get out of there without being able to see, so he just screamed for a few minutes.]  Speaking of screaming, we ended up having a screaming contest to give away 1 blank CD.  It was suggested that we should have a rematch, but I guess I didn't hear them.  We gave away a few banners describing cheap phone service in Spanish... they ended up on the floor at DataCorp, let me know if you'd like one.  Matt Davis won a 200MHz computer.  I don't remember who won the 386.  The whole web-based-jukebox thing went over really well.  It was great fun deleting all the crazy rap some people put on there.  :-)  That pretty much sums it up. .   I know I've forgotten lots of stuff, as I was too tired to remember it all.  Thanks to Megan, Julie, Bostic, Jon, Gilles, Davis, Mitch, Mitch's family, and everybody else that has helped make this event a good time, for the last 3 years.  As for now, I'm headed off to college.  Maybe we'll have another one some time.  Maybe we won't.  However, if I do end up planning another one. . . .  you'll definitely hear about it.

Musatcha is pronounced moo-SA-cha.  I have no idea where it originated.
